What is "blinding glare"?
Blinding glare is a natural phenomenon that occurs when light is reflected from horizontal surfaces (such as boating, wet roads, snow skiing). In these cases, polarized lenses are the most effective option for improving vision by blocking this type of glare.
What is 'Computer Vision Syndrome'?
Computer Vision Syndrome may be manifested with headaches, blurred or double vision, neck, back or shoulder pain, fatigue, dry or irritated eyes due to excessive or intense computer use. Dedicated computer eyeglasses with an anti-reflective treatment can be very helpful in eliminating the symptoms associated with this syndrome.
What are Transitions® lenses?
These are photochromic lenses, which darken on exposure to ultraviolet rays. They are ideal for patients seeking a clear lens indoors, which darkens rapidly in sunlight. Transitions lenses are available in most lens materials and lens styles.
New DriveWear® sun lenses use a combination of NuPolar® polarization and TransitionsTM photochromic technology so that they darken behind the windshield. They adjust to light and block glare for driving in overcast conditions, bright conditions and outdoors in sunlight. Great for golf!
Why should someone consider sports eyewear?
Again it depends on your lifestyle, but this type of eyewear has specific standards for protection and performance. Those patients involved in cycling, golf, skiing, shooting, and water sports, including swimming and scuba diving need a more durable and protective eyewear. Several lines are available for discussion with our opticians.
